October 14 – 20, 2012

The fifth Society for Inherited Metabolic Disorders North American Metabolic Academy was held on October 14 to 20, 2012, at the Oak Ridge Hotel & Conference Center in Chaska, Minnesota.

The 2012 SIMD NAMA was well received by all participants. NAMA continues to set the standard as an important education nexus for inherited metabolic disorders.

Participants rated the academy highly:

  • 84% rated NAMA as outstanding
  • 16% rated NAMA as very good

The course was well organized:

  • 84% of participants agreed that it was
  • 16% strongly agreed that it was

The course provided a comprehensive overview of metabolic disorders:

  • 82% of participants agreed that it did
  • 18% strongly agreed that it did

The course improved participants' ability to diagnose and manage metabolic disorders:

  • 73% of participants agreed that it did so for them
  • 27% strongly agreed that it did

The course met participants' objectives and expectations:

  • 78% of participants agreed that it did so for them
  • 22% strongly agreed that it did
